Clutch rod size
I´m having some trouble with the clutch rod on my 1942 DKW nz 350.
Can anyone tell me the correct size (length) of the clutch rod?
And the correct size (lenght) of the smaller clutch rod front pin?
Below is a picture of the parts:
The blue part is the smaller clutch rod front pin.
The red part is the clutch rod.

Clutch Rod Size
Hello,
I have just measured the rod length on my 1938 an 1940 NZ 350. One is 186 mm and the other 187 mm. There is some confusion here apparently.
regards

strange.....
maybe i measured a wrong part,
will check tomorrow again, seems very small for the engine if you count
my two clutch rod sizes.
I've to pull mine out, no problem.
Maybe Martin did measure also the wrong part?

Clutch Rod Size
Hello again,
Since you seem to have the same rod length as myself (186 mm) I just measured the length of rod sticking out measured from the "Gummikappe" to be 12 - 13 mm. And this clutch works beautifully. In case you are looking to buy a new rod, please be aware that some replicas I have come across although having the right length (186 mm) they are produced from a 6 mm dia. bar and will not fit. The rod dia. should be between 5,5 and 5,8 mm. Hope this may be of some help.
Regards.

Hi,
Checked again and it's indeed 186mm.
Don't know what rod I've measured first, but that was 134mm,
maybe for a 350-1?
I don't know.....
TM250 is correct.

Re: Clutch rod size
So you have the two rods then a 1/4" ballbearing next to the adjuster. What do you need to do to check these rods are ok?
Re: Clutch rod size
Hi Andy,
I am not sure if I understand your question right, but I try.
The two rods comes inside the gearbox axle and if the easily can be slided through the axle they are ok. Of course they need to be of correct lenght also.
Oil/grease the pins and the ball, mount them and after that, mount the cover that comes over the sprocket and adjust the adjuster screw on the sprocket cover, so you have some 2-3mm slack movement in the clutch lever on handle bar.
If the clutch itself is ok and correct adjusted, it should now work properly.
