Re: Help? What is up with this engine?
PROBLEM SOLVED! - (thanks to Frank) it turns out that the stator wires were in the wrong hole, causing a regular random misfire. The clue I think is that the charge light gets much much brighter when the engine is running. The engine now runs but the charge light stays on (just); so there must be an...

Re: Help? What is up with this engine?
UPDATE: Thanks for all the help so far but it's still not revving. I've fitted new exhausts because the old ones were full of carbon and dented. I've also reground the points and changed the condenser and still no joy. The weird thing was though when I switched the main headlight on for a second it ...

Re: Clutch rod size
If it helps, Ive just rebuild two NZ350 engines and from my experience it doesn't matter what the length of each rod is, provided the total length is okay. They are in two lengths so that you can pull it out easier from one side of the other. The dia is 5.82mm so I just turn down some 300mm M6 rod a...

Re: Help? What is up with this engine?
Hello, Thanks for your replies. I set the timing at 6.5 originally but will check again just in case. I also tried altering the timing whilst the bike was running amd it didnt make any difference. Ive ordered a new condensor and have reground the points and will try again. The engine isnrunning forw...

Re: Odd numbers on a 1942 engine.
Hi, Just out of interest my NZ350 has an aluminium engine dated 5(39) and 11(39) with engine number 1405XXX / 72 which obviously dates it later. Unusually I have some history in that the engine came from a hay loft in Solvenia. I was once bolted to a wehrmacht DKW NZ350 remains. I assumed too that w...

Help? What is up with this engine?
I've rebuild at NZ350 (yes with an IZH cylinder! as mine had too many broken fins) but I can't get it running. Have a look at this link and read the full description.

It just won't rev! and is driving me nuts.
Thanks, Julian

Cylinder (Zylinder)
Hi has any one got a NZ350 Cylinder (or 350-1) with no broken fins (or small amounts)? and or a decent piston that fits will without boring?. Just the cylinder is fine if you don't have a piston. Once I have one I'll delete this or say so one here, so if this wanted is still here them im still looki...
