Re: carburetion problems
are you sure it's the correct carburettor? My 1939 NZ350 has an Amal-Fischer M76-426 fitted.

Re: 350NZ kickstarter
Hi Andy, sadly not fixed the kickstarter yet, my jeep has taken priority of late (driving it at the Goodwood Revival tomorrow). However, I fully intend to take my bike to the Brooklands Military Vehicles Day on 17th November. Also, my mate is building a sidecar for his Matchless G3 and we are talkin...

Re: 350NZ kickstarter
My primary chain has 20mm play, the manual states replace the chain if more than 15 mm of play. Can anyone recommend a good source of supply for new chain?
Thanks Chris

Re: 350NZ kickstarter
Thanks for the reminder about the LH thread
I hope to find time to remove the clutch this week and will indeed check the starter sprocket.
all best, Chris

Re: 350NZ kickstarter
Hi Frank, thank you for your valuable advice again! I've had a look at the 'Russian' segment on eBay, judging by the photos it is just a rough cast copy, so I will try to rebuild my original segment as you suggest. By the way, is the IZH 350 the Soviet DKW copy after they took the factory to Russia ...

Re: 350NZ kickstarter
Does anyone have a kickstarter segment part number 122228-0?
I have tried the usual suppliers but no luck.
Thanks Chris

350NZ kickstarter
My kick starter has been 'jumping' and 'jamming', so recently I have to jump start the bike, not easy with a sidecar! Took the casing off today and notice the first two teeth on the segment are broken. Can the segment be reversed, or will I have to replace the whole thing? thanks, Chris broken teeth...

Sidecars
Hi all, my apologies for lack of contact, playing with my jeep in 2017! But I have been researching my 1939 350NZ and discovered the sidecar is a 1938 Simard Standard 13. Simard were a French manufacturer based in Lyon. So I wonder who joined a 1939 German motorcycle with a 1938 French sidecar? My r...

Motorcycle and sidecar markings
Happy New Year to all! Regret did very little to my DKW in 2017 as I was using my jeep! 2018 will be the year of the bike! Two items of interest: I have discovered after much research the sidecar on my 1939 350NZ is a 1938 Simard, manufactured in Lyon, France. I wonder how a German motorcycle got a ...

Hi all,
Merry Christmas!
I'm taking my Jeep to Normandy next year from 1st to 8th June but will be pleased to meet up with other DKW owners if you're planning a trip.

350NZ Stickers/transfers/decals/stencils?
Hi chaps, looking for decals or whatever is used for 350NZ. front mudguard tyre pressure / front mudguard load numbers / DKW logo for side of petrol tank / single 350NZ fuel tank sign with mixture details (not the 3 piece 350-1 sign) / rear mudguard tyre pressure for solo and pillion. A good source ...

Re: Feultap / Benzinhahn DKW NZ ??
Hi all,
If it helps this is the fuel tap on my 1939 350NZ. I believe it's original - and it's leaking again! (problem is, so does my Amal carb, so unless I disconnect the fuel line my garage stinks to high heaven of petrol in the morning!)
cheers,
Chris

Re: Normandy DKW meeting
Hi all,
I was looking at the French guys' website yesterday and there are some photos of their Normandy meeting with some nice bikes, also lots of good DKW wartime photos.

Re: 350NZ saddle bags
Thanks guys,
I've also been recommended www.oldtimerteile-s.de for the brackets, but i will use Oldtimer Garage for the leather bags. I am told by Frank that metal boxes did not appear until '41/42.
cheers,
Chris
