Hi all,

I want to buy the brackets and two leather "saddle" bags for my 1939 350NZ. What are the correct fittings and who is the best dealer to buy from?

thanks,

Chris

Re: Normandy DKW meeting

Hi Lolo,

regrettably I cannot come to France in September, but please contact me. I am researching the history of my 1939 NZ 350 with side-car, which was first registered in Laon, Picardie in 1950. Your help will be very welcome!

thanks,

Chris

Re: Dynamo brushes

Thanks again Frank!

I've had the armature cleaned and tested but still no charge, so I will now fit new brushes.

Hi all,

I need new brushes and springs for my 1939 350NZ. I think the German name is Kohlebürste and the part numbers are:

012894-0 plus kohle

Recommendations where to buy please,

thanks,

Re: Help? What is up with this engine?

Hi Julian, Frank's ignition tips worked for me, my bike runs a treat! But, I also have charging problems and my generator (armature) is away at a rewind company at the moment being checked. Also, re carburettors, I've been in contact with AMAL asking about gaskets and carb rebuild kits - here is the...

Re: Stoye Sidecars

Hi Mike, meant to send these ages ago - sorry! I now think the sidecar is a Belgian /French make, possibly a Precision. still researching my bike's history, got back as far as 1950 at the moment. It's a 1939 350NZ with correct engine and frame numbers for April 1939 build date. I think it might have...

First time on British roads!

Hi all, very pleased to announce that my 350NZ is 'up and running'! I cured the carburettor problem (I had fitted the float bowl upside down, I should learn to read German - "oben" means top!). Engine starts easily and runs very well, except dynamo not charging. I will attend to this later. Took the...

Gearshift assembly

Hi chaps, i stupidly took the gearshift off my tank without paying attention, now I don't think I've re-assembled it properly! Can someone send me an exploded view of the tank mounting assembly please? Also, on my historical research, I've now got names of previous owners of my bike in France dating...

Re: Stoye Sidecars

Hi all,

These photos appeared in the February 2015 issue of Classic Military Vehicle magazine (courtesy of John G Teasdale). What do you think, is that a 350NZ with the sidecar?

cheers,

Re: 350NZ carburetor issues?

Hi chaps, Last weekend I ran my boat on a lake (1961 Fairey Cinderella with a '79 Merc 500 outboard). Talking with my boating chums I realise I've made a stupid school-boy error with my DKW! To try and start my bike I just used the fuel I had in the garage - albeit fresh fuel it was 5 litres of my o...

350NZ carburetor issues?

Hi all<

I can get my bike to fire by squirting fuel into the spark pug hole and the engine fires two or three times, but I can't keep it running. I've stripped the (Amal M76/426) carb and cleaned everything, but no luck.. Any ideas?

thanks,

Chris
