Hi Dirk.
the exhaust of the NZ 350 was always in two parts. Here is the three-piece, not so NZ 350th. In addition, the fish tail end piece is somehow cut off.
regards

Re: nz 350 schalldampfer??
Hi,
There are at least three different types of silencers for NZ350, two different types manufactured by Eberspächer and one type manufactured by Leistriz.
Some of the silencers has the outer core in 3-pieces and some in 2-pieces. Check the ETL for NZ 350 1939-41, pages 62-65.
The silencers on the pictures looks a little like NZ250/350 silencer with a modified fishtail as RTWOLLE mentioned. The pictures are quite bad, so its hard to say anything for sure.
I have noticed severe times when this seller sells something on ebay, he has a lot of parts he advertise as "DKW NZ" parts, even if they dont have anything with DKW to do

Thanks for your answers! very usefull, allready had my doubts but seeing them confirmed is always nice
What would be a better option, buying a repro pair of schalldampfer or looking for an original pair? I hardly see them on ebay.
greetings Dirk

Of course if you find nice original silencers, they are to prefer, but all I have seen has mostly been in so bad shape that is very difficult to get anything from them.
On the repro market there seems to be both "good" and "cheap". If not possible to find originals in nice shape, I would buy some repro silencers that are build in exact the same way as the original (possible to dismantle) and the inner parts constructed in the same way as the originals (so you get the right back pressure).

I have tested motorradmeistermilz for an exhaust system for SB500 -no complaints

Re: nz 350 schalldampfer??
Hello Dirk,
I have bought exhaust silencers and downpipes from Milz for my RT 125, RT 250 and also for my NZ 350 from 1939. I have found them all quite satisfying. However, the curvature of the NZ downpipes (Krümmer) may interfere with the Schnellständer if you have one of these mounted. At least it did in my case. But to date I have not found any other repro system with a curvature identical to the original. Perhaps somebody else in the forum has?
Good Luck!
