DKW NZ350 "Entstört"plate

Hello,
does anyone have information if the Dkw NZ350 had only the Siemens "Entstört nach Gruppe 3" plate or were the bikes also fitted with Bosch plates?

Did the "Entstört" plate disappear completely from the motorcycle after 1941 or was it fixed elsewhere on the mudguard or frame?..

Hi,

During the war they started to use a new typeplate with the entstört info on the type plate itself.
On the NZ350/1943 the typeplate with entstört info was on the side of the headstock, but I have a war time picture in a book, of a NZ 350 with the typeplate mounted in the front of the headstock but without the additional entstört plate.

Its very hard to tell from the picture if its the old type plate without the entstört info, or the NZ350/1943 plate with the entstört info on the plate itself.

The bike on the picture is a 1942-43 bike (old front fender, old air cleaner and with the reinforcement brackets for the luggage carrier and the extra supports for exhaust pipes and yellow coloured) and seems to be almost brand new on the picture.

I guess its a 1943 bike, beacause when the picture was shot in Tartu (Dorpat) Estonia in february 1944 on the eastern front and the bike is almost like new.

I accept you will be right on the date the picture was token, so it must be 1943 (as my bike.) Second part of my question was : was it only the Siemens company who was involved in the "Entstörung" or was Bosh also part of the Dkw contract ? Was the Entstörung plate still on the bike after 1943 or was it suspended?

According to both ETL 605-12 from 1941 and the same manual from 1944 the entstört plate should be Bosch, but as shown before, the manuals are not always 100% accurate.

In the ETL605-12 from 1944 the type plate has a different part number than the type plate in ETL605-12 from 1941.

I have never seen a NZ350/1943 with a separate entstört shield, so I think they skipped the entstört plate when they started to use the later model type plate with the entstört info on the type plate in 1942 or 1943.

Should be interesting to know if there is some forum member who has a 1942 or 1943 bike (with art deco front fender) and original separate entstört plate?

Yes, i mean this model of NZ 350, but manufacturing year 1942 or 43. Its very hard to tell anything about the bike on the image, can be everything between 1939-43.
