Hi! I have been offered a fairly complete NZ350, 1939. It comes with an extra engine. Parts I believe are missing or incomplete are controlbox, and perhaps speedo. Mud guards need some welding due to rust, but not much.

It lies in parts for the time beeing, and is unrestored.

I have no expirence with DKW bikes, but have been into restoring cars and british bikes for many years.

My questions are:
1:are NZ parts hard to get, and where can I get them?
2:where can I get complete parts list, manuals and schemes?
3:is it easy to get pics of details, as mud guards and so on?
4:are complete wiring harnesses available?
5: and what is a fair price for an resto object? ( I know..tough question

)

Hi Svenn,

..and welcome to the forum. Now to your questions:

1. Parts availability
Most of the parts are available, please check the "Vendor"-link on this homepage. Many parts are offered at e-bay, you just have to be patient. The selling prices at e-bay are very high. Be prepared to pay 180-200 Euro for a used controlbox and 250 Euro for a speedometer or ignition switch. Gasket sets are readily available.

2. Manuals
I sell all manuals and partslists as pdf-file on DVD. If you are interested, than send me a private message.

3. For pictures of parts... check this homepage

4. Wiring Harness
Easy to fabricate yourself, but readymade harnesses are available.

5. ..good question.These days some people brake up bikes to sell the parts. A good restoration base should maybe sell for Euro 1200,00 ?? Just a guess..

I bougt the bike. Just need to get it home, and then I will post some pics and find out whats missing.

I need for starters some close up's of the mud guards. Rear one at the hinge, inside / outside, and front mud guard at the fork mounting.

Got it home! It turned out to be a NZ250, not 350,

but I am am happy anyway!

Got it home in parts, but mounted it, to get the full picture of whats missing - and for now I am looking for:

*one passengers footrest
*one drivers footrest
*one centerstand-(the previous owner thought he had it-so he would look for it)
*one headlamp-(the previous owner thought he had it-so he would look for it)
*one side stand
*lid for coilbox
*one rearlamp - the one fitted is not original.
So if anyone knows of any thing,, please let me know!!

It came with two engines. one in parts - and one assy which is said was running before the bike got torn down.

Here are som parts which came with the bike I don't know where to fit, or even is for the bike, so help would be apriciated.

last pics looks like a wedge of some sort.

I know this is a NZ350 Forum, but I hope I could get som technical help here along the restoration process anyway? Please let me know if I am on hostile ground now...

I have not been able to find any simular site for the 250
