Tyre Pressure

Post by Rob Hickmott » Tue Jun 12, 2007 8:05 pm

Hi All,

Had a bit of an accident on my NZ last week end. I was doing about 60 KPH and I wanted to slow down to pull over into a parking place. When I put on the front brake the front wheel went over to hard right, and I skated down the road persued by the bike. Not to much damage to me or the bike, although I will need a new headlamp. Thanks to the armour in my jacket.
I have checked all the wheel alignment, tyres and spokes all seem OK front brake is fine not locked on. The only thing I was running low tyre pressure on the front. What does every one use? The manual quotes a very low pressure by modern standards.

Thanks Rob
Thanks
Rob

Hi Rob,

I have found the following pressures given in the manuals:

NZ350
Front 1,3 bar, Rear 1,6 (with rear seat occupied 2,2 bar)

NZ350-1
Front 1,2 bar, Rear 1,6 (with rear seat 2occupied 2,3 bar)

Best regards

Thomas

Hi Thomas.

Thanks for the info. Do use this pressure on your bike? It seems very low.
Thanks

Hi Rob,

sorry I have never ridden my bike for longer stretches (until now) , so I can not make any recommendations.

I checked all available DKW data available, also from earlyer models like the SB, but found only the figures given above.

Best regards

Thomas
