Yes, this tire is an original from the second world war or earlier. Fulda is a manufacturer of tires in the german town Fulda near Francfort in Hessen. Shortly after the war there would be a marking saying "Made in U.S.-Zone" and after 1949 West-German tires were marked with "Made in W.-Germany"
Especially the writing "Deutsches Fabrikat" which means "Made in Germany" written in German is absolutely unnecessary due to only GB made german factories to sign their goods for the import to GB with "Made in Germany".
In my opinion this is quite a statement typical for the "Third Reich" to underline that this product is german made and should be bought preferably.
It may be that your tire was not originally fixed on a NZ when after the war rubber-shortage forced many owners to mount used tyres from other Bikes, but this is surely a product of the period 1933-1945.
Please mount it only on your Bike for showroom purposes and don“t drive with a 70 year old rubber tyre-
You can polish it up with glycerine, then it will be like new.

Hi!
Thanks for the info on the tire! It hangs neatly on my garage wall now as a historical document for my bike!
