Which holes are original?
Not wanting to weld up anything original..
Could someone state me which holes that are original?
Does anyone have the correct thickness for the shaft in the hinge on the mudguard as well- I need to make a new one as you can see
Thanks
Svenn

I actually bought a new rear part of the rear fender for my bike.
The old one had to many holes and fixes.. and was missing that embossed spot.
But the new one also has, i think, 2 holes to much (someone probably put on some bigger rear light once).
Here a picture to show what i mean with that embossed spot:

I have the same problem with my fender, theres a lot of holes drilled and also the embossed spot is welded and repaired.
Maybe its easier to search for a better one on ebay, of course everthing is possible to repair, but I mean i dont think its worth the job.
Is the embossed spot stamped in one piece together with the fender, or is it a separete part velded/soldered to the fender (the one i have is in so bad shape so its impossible to say how it should look like)?

I measured 4 different mudguards at the weekend for a friend (and took a bunch of photos I will try to upload later) all had different holes , but the top one measures approx 12.5 cm (to centre of hole) from the bottom edge of the hinge (ie measurement A on Svenn's drawing). However, I found the best way to measure it was to turn the guard over and measure the inside. From the very top edge of the guard and measuring with a steel rule (ie straight, not a tape measure placed on the surface) the measurement is 150 mm (approx!). That is for both early and late type mudguards (and an Izh one I had too).
