size of the speedo

Post by Arloff_NZ » Thu Jan 10, 2008 4:43 pm

Does anybody have the exact mesures (not the diameter - I know its 60 mm) of the ISGUS / VDO speedo?? I`d like to know the size of the housing - and has anybody some more pictures which show the speedo from the all sides (apart from the pictures in the parts section)? Would be interesting to reproduce a fitting speedo from other parts, mayba post-war ISGUS speedo or so.
Also a very goog picture / scan of the scale - disc (??Tachoscheibe??) would be interesting...

Regards,

Jens

Hi Jens,

I'll send you all you need about Isgus speedo next weekend :)
Right now I'm not at home and it's impossible to do it.

Correct speedo?

Post by mdunn » Tue Dec 02, 2008 1:52 am

For those of you still searching for the correct speedo, here is a Isgus for sale and I am convinced this OR the PS that Thomas showed in the begining of this thread is correct.

Maybe this is the correct speedo? It is for sale on one of the other motorcycle forums.

Mike,

this is not correct. Apart from the dimensions of the housing and the trip counter, the main identification is the chrome ring. There was no chrome available in 1944/45 for things like chrome bezels. Of course the shape of the bezel is also not correct.
