Hey guys,

Question for the electronic guys.
Is it possible to start the engine without having a spullenkasten.
I notice there are coming 4 wires out of my engine that are connected normaly to the power regulator in de spullenkasten but that part is gone in my spullenkasten.
Can I connect the zundkerze to something to bypass that spullenkasten.?

Thx

Hi,

The question was a bit unclear for me, but you can start the bike without the regulator and relay if you have an ignition coil, but be aware to dont connect the wires coming from the dynamo to the bikes electrical system, or to the battery, because without the regulator the voltage will rise too high.

There are 4 wires coming from the dynamo cover: 2 of them are to the dynamo itself, 1 is earth and the last one to the contact breaker.

So if you want to start the bike without the dynamo and regulator/relay: Connect the breaker point wire to the - of the ignition coil and + from the battery direct to the + on the ignition coil (do not connect any other wires). Now you can start the bike.

Note! If the breaker points are in closed position and you connect + direct to the coil from the battery, the ignition coil is short circuited, so dont keep the coil connected for a longer while if the engine is not running (the coil will overheat)

Good 8)

1. Connect the other end of the red breaker point wire to the - on your ignition coil.
2. Connect the yellow/green earth wire to battery -
3. Connect battery + to the ignition coil +
4. Start the bike :D
