Sidecars

Hi all,
my apologies for lack of contact, playing with my jeep in 2017! But I have been researching my 1939 350NZ and discovered the sidecar is a 1938 Simard Standard 13. Simard were a French manufacturer based in Lyon. So I wonder who joined a 1939 German motorcycle with a 1938 French sidecar?
