Hand- en footgear.
Why did Auto Union for the NZ-series chose for hand- and footgear both?
The english users manual says the following:
The hand lever makes it possible to see which gear that is engaged, and it gives the rider choice of methods acording to circumstances; he can either change gear by hand or foot. But the manual also saysthat the best way is to change by foot when the rider gets used to it
I would guess that the NZ was introduced when many riders still were used to only hand gear levers, and were in the middle of a method change, therefor both ways.
just my 2 cents.
