can someone tell me what is the best period correct batterie to buy for 1939 nz250?i know it's a 6 volt batterie,but whats the AH stand for?and should i get a 12AH,or the 16 AH type?

I use a 6 Volt Blei Batterie with 7 or 8 AH in my NZ 350
My Nz 250 works with a 6V 5 AH Gel Batterie

I bought one of those original look-a-like battery covers- Since there is not too much use of the bike during winter(and summer
), batteries tend to get bad/ruined over a few years. But with the cover I can buy a low price (or a good gelbattery) battery and put it inside.
The Ah stand for Amper Hours, and is a meassurement for how much pover your battery provide. Since the DKW NZ don't have a starter, you will not need much power. The horn is the most demanding electric part, but a 5ah battery will do fine.
Charge your battery regurarly, or get a impulse charger that is always connected when the bike is not in use, keep water level correct, and use destilled water. And store during winter in a non freezing place. This will make your battery live longer.
