Ok, tell me whats correct and whats not on my bike

Ok, this is my bike, a 1943 (althought the serial number indicates 1944) NZ 350-1. Im trying to determain what appears to be original, and what appears to be russian replacements (If there are any). Please let me know. Thanks!

At the first sight a realy nice NZ ... and if the frame number dates your bike in the year 1944 this should be right... . Maybe someone who fabricated the repro (?) manufacturers plate was not sure about the year and let his fantasy play... .
Yes, depending on the pics some details are not correct:
- Headlamp and backlight are not of the correct type
- Upper support for the saddle-box seems to be wrong type
- Horn seems to be the wrong type
- Fuel tank cap is the wrong type
- Passenger foot pegs are of a wrong type
- Rubber of the saddles may be of ISH origin
- Mud scraperfin is missing
- lower chainguard is missing
- Exaust hoses should not be chromed
- No tool-box should be mounted on 1943 type and the 350-1 type
Although a number of points nothing seriouse as all "mistakes" could be solved within a short time ...as you manage to get the missing / original parts. How they have to look you can see in the parts section ... . Some parts should be no problem as backlights where made for example by "classische technik" and the saddle-bag support, lower chain guard and scraperfin by the "oldtimergarage". Maybe you find these parts even at european ebay... . Fueltank cap and headlamp will be hard to find...

Hi Tim,
I am sorry, but have some more remarks:
Paint: The bike should be beige, all bikes build after Feb 1943 were delivered in beige.
Airfilter: Should be painted beige
Driver footpegs: The retaining screw and washer for the rubbers are missing
Exhaust system: The additional support for the header pipes is missing
Passenger seat: The complete seat seems to be of russian origin, not only the rubber cover.
Kickstarter: The lever is from a pre 1942 NZ. The small peg swings fully inward.
Frontbrake: The adjuster for the front brake cable is missing

...maybe the guy who restored the bike took this colour as "Luftwaffengrau" ?? Its hard to judge it on a few pictures but it looks not dark enough for "Panzergrau"!

Hi ArloffNZ,
the question is, if in 1944 equipment like cars and bikes for the Luftwaffe still got a special paint applied. My guess is that by that time the Wehrmacht should have other worries then to supply Lufwaffen-grey bikes. Most propably the Lufwaffe was supplied with "normal" painted beige bikes. Can anybody shed some light on this??
