carburetion problems

Post by p.salva » Mon Oct 07, 2019 2:03 pm

On my nz350 I have an Amal 24c2a carburetor but I am having some problem.
The engine starts fine but then does not rev up and does not run smoothly.
The air filter and carburetor are perfectly clean, the main jet is 130, the needle is in 3rd position.
What is wrong?

are you sure it's the correct carburettor? My 1939 NZ350 has an Amal-Fischer M76-426 fitted.

any luck jet on the Carb./engine running problems????

it seems like a fuel flow or ignition problem !!

make sure the fuel system/carb. is clean and your feultap is in good order (smal test will do)

ignition points check them as wel if the gap is to smal /corrosion on the points ed.

good luck!!

sorry for the delay in the answer but because of the lock down I was unable to work on the bike.
The problem was solved and depended on a series of imperfections: the electrical system was the main culprit and I had to change the regulator and the coil, also the jet of the carburettor is too large.
Everything is OK now.
Thanks for your interventions
