RSVP: Wiring Clips on Frame of NZ350-1

Post by thomas591 » Fri Jan 09, 2009 4:07 pm

Hello,

I received an email from an NZ-owner with a interesting question:

"Have you ever seen this part? Its the cable clip that holds the wiring to the main frame, I think its original. Its made from spring steel, 10mm wide 40mm long, fits through the small wire loops on the frame, just a push fit"....there were 3 of these clips fitted to the frame, under the petrol tank, they had been heavily painted over with red paint ( the bike was painted red post war) I didn't realise that they were there at first till I came to clean up the frame.

The maiframe has these small wire lugs were this spring should be pushed ito. See below:

I did not found this clip in the partsbooks. Who has found these sprinclips on his bike? This would confirm that the spring is an original item

Hi Folks,

Jürgen send me the following pictures:

To me the clips on the very first pictures look a bit "homemade". Nevertheless the question is:

-Are thise clips original
-If yes, which of those clips is the right thing

Bye

Hi All,

These clips are not home made, if you look at the end its been pressed into a dish shape, so the corners dont dig in, they are hardened as well
Thanks
Rob
