Hello,
I am the owner of the NZ 250 in Illinois. My Machine is a 1939 and the month mark on the engine block indicates a February manufacture date. I purchased this bike from Bluemoon Cycle in June of 2007. From the research I've done it was in the Dubec Collection in France. From there it went to Rolling Art Auctions in South Carolina and bought by Bluemoon. It seems that it had an older and very basic resoration done at one time. There were patches of Bondo on the tank and fenders but some of the original paint was present. After 2 years of work it was complete enough to bring out to a WW2 event in May where I met up with Jeff. I took my NZ to a second event in Rockford IL where I was shocked to see a Dark Gray NZ 350/1 zipping through the village streets. I finally met owner Kurt and had a 3 hour conversation regarding our machines. We had a blast riding around together Saturday night. There is NOTHING like the sound of NZ's !
By the way, I would like to thank all of you in the forum and the masters of this web page. It has been a wealth of information and very helpful. Vielen Dank! NZ Voran!

Kurt and Jeff:

We MUST do a ride together this year. In all honesty, Rockford is a nice place, but its too congested. Lowell is the best place to ride. There are plenty of good trails around the camps and open country roads and we can go on a nice long ride. Jeff, I know you can make Lowell so it's up to you Kurt. (If you can't make Lowell Kurt, I will definately ride with you at Rockford.) I can talk to Dan Wendorf from Grossdeutschland and see if he would be interested in joining us @ Lowell with his NZ 350/1. That would make 4 NZ's at one event. Get your Schutzbrille u. Kradmantel guys, I'm pumped! :D

Guys: Attending the Lowell event in April or May is out of the question. Work has me tied down hard during those months. The following year at Lowell in 2012 is free though, and it would be an honor to ride with all of you then! I plan on being at Rockford again next year. (I love the shopping there!).

If someone wants to spearhead something I will drag my DKW NZ350-1 out there to Lowell.

Guys I would love to come out too, but I'm back on deployment...this time in Afghanistan. I won't get back till fall of next year. 2012, may work though. Depends on where the Army will have me.

How many just NZ 350-1s are there in the US?

Ok for next year Panama.
It's always on the end of june or beginin of july.
The rallye is at my home, near Argentan not far from the "Falaise gap".

These year we have about 10 DKW. I will send pics next week.

Regards,
Lolo.
