Motor-mountingplates

Post by martdapp » Mon May 17, 2010 2:08 pm

I've got a small problem.
The picture shows the common NZ sidestand-holder.
The rusty mounting plate below, however has the mounting-holes slightly more apart, the side-stand bracket unsuccessful does'nt fit now.
To my opinion the rear brackets wich belong to the rusty front brackets must be also different, otherwise the engine will not fit?
Are there, perhaps different Motor-mountingplates such as the rusty-one?
The NZ is not mine, I do not know yet whether the rusty holderplate (below) is original (features).

Hello Jakub,
Is it really true that the NZ with an aluminum engine has different
holder-plates then the NZ-1 with the iron engine?
Who knows that for sure and from what year was it changed?
Are there 2 kinds of Side-standholders too?
PS. the owner of the rusty holder-plate has a NZ-1 !

Hi,

The problem comes with the repro sidestand mount, when they are cast they use an original mount and not a proper wooden pattern. So when the metal cools it shrinks a little thats why the holes are wrong.
Thanks
Rob

I can confirm that the NZ350 and the 350-1 had different motor mounts. The two engines have a difference in lenght!

Thank You Thomas! :)
Are there also 2 types of mountingholders for the sidestand?

definetly YES! I learned it the hard way, because I bought once a stand for the -43 NZ, only to find out that it would not fit my bike. I sold it to a friend with a -1, were it fitted exactly.
