upper chain guard

on the upper chain guard,i noticed there is one screw that bolts thur the rear of the chain guard,but on the front of the chain guard how does't this mount?up close to the engine casing.

The front end slips into the rectangular hole formed by the engine casing, and the ridge in the guard prevents it from going into the casing too deeply or the front end from moving too low. The bolt at the rear will hold the entire guard where it needs to be.
