1945 NZ350-1

Post by Freddieab » Sat Mar 12, 2011 5:32 pm

Hi All,

I have been looking at this site for quite some time now but, after a long search, I have finally got an NZ350-1. Any comments on it would be welcome.

1. DKW NZ 350-1
2. 1945
3. Frame - 661563
4. Engine - 1501922

5. I bought this last week near Hannover from a man in his 70s. He found it in the late 50s as a teenager and planned to put it on the road again but never got round to it. His son recently persuaded him to have a clear out of all the stuff he has hoarded over the years and this was part of it. It has been dry stored for the last 50 years! As far as I can tell it is all original but not all 350-1.

6. Pictures are at the following links.

Pagusa http://img840.imageshack.us/i/dsc03880g.jpg/
Tank cap http://img852.imageshack.us/i/dsc03884.jpg/
Beige paint http://img694.imageshack.us/i/dsc03895t.jpg/
Case numbers http://img846.imageshack.us/i/dsc03874s.jpg/

Things I know are wrong.

a. Headlamp
b. Front mudguard (I do have correct one)
c. Air filter (I have got an IZH one)
d. Tool box

Things I know are missing.

a. Side stand.
b. Petrol tap.
c. Rear foot pegs.
d. Rear lamp.
e. x1 carrier strut.
f. Chain guard.
g. Front right foot peg.
h. Pannier hooks and mounts.
i. Rear seat.
j. Hand shift parts.

I have tried to add this to the Database but keeps saying there is an error????

This is now completely stripped and undergoing restoration.

Now looking for the missing original parts.

Thanks
Freddie

Hello Freddie,
I hope You haven't sandblast your parts.
If You have the time for it, restore them as a member from this site already did;
viewtopic.php?t=742

Things I know are missing.

a. Side stand, I have one for You
b. Petrol tap, I have one for you
c. Rear foot pegs, I have a org. set of 2
d. Rear lamp. See;http://www.oldtimergarage.eu/store/popu ... p?pID=1431
e. x1 carrier strut. Make it yourself, there are no numbers or stamps on it.
f. Chain guard; http://www.oldtimergarage.eu/store/popu ... hp?pID=476 and; http://www.oldtimergarage.eu/store/popu ... hp?pID=408
g. Front right foot peg. oldtimer garage
h. Pannier hooks and mounts. oldtimer garage
i. Rear seat. The org. Pagusa rearseat, hardly to find and no repro-covers are made.
j. Hand shift parts, I have org. NZ-1 set for you.

I think You need even more parts, as Petrolcan-holder, mudscrapper, pump, etc. etc.
I have several spareparts for You.
Much luck en joy with restoring this bike.
