Hi Blassic, you can get pre-made stencils from Old-Timer Garage. You can either use the the letters and attach them to the tank, or what I plan on doing is to remove the letters from the stencil. Stick it to the tank and then spray paint it black. Once you remove the stencil should pretty much look like the tank in the photo you provided.

I've seem other solid stencils but I don't think the Germans had stickers on their bikes in WW2?

Hope this helps.

Hi!
I made stencils for vintage bikes including DKWs.

I know it's self-advertisement, but there wasn't another way
Best regards.

The biggest problem with these stencils is that they´re very tiny. Due to the size of the letters you can´t just cut them out of a masking-film.

I contacted a designer for advertisments and comercials. Together with him I made a artwork of the original stencil on a computer program called "corel draw". With this artwork he was able to put the letters onto a special masking film. This was made with a special method (photo exposuring).
This masking film consists of three layers. (each 0.0??? mm). Then put the self-adhesive mask on the the Tank.

Now it´s a bit tricky, because you have to sandblast (glaspearls) the masking film with very low pressure. That will remove the first glossy layer and the very tiny letters are now "free".

Then you can paint the stencil and remove the masking-film.

What a lot of work!!!
The mail before from expertthomas was okey, he has the exact stencils.
He made them after I did the research. Only the Zyclon-script has to many space between the lines. You have to cut the lines and make the gaps some smaller. But he is working on this to.Image

I have used expertthomas's stencils and they are fantastic. He also made me some custom stencils. The stencil I got from OldTimerGarage did not have the letters cut. They were only stickers, not stencils.

Unfortunately, I made the wrong choice FIRST. The OldTimerGarage sticker now lines my garbage can. I have to say that Leszek knows I was not satisfied, and sent me a pair of rubber air filter cup gaskets for free to help. I still spend lots of money at OldTimerGarage, but I cannot understand why he would have such an incorrectly described product among all the good products he sells. It was a nasty surprise. His mufflers look great on my NZ-350-1 though! I wonder if they have the correct air resistance and back pressure though. The internal parts are so different from the old mufflers.
