HASAG nr. 165 NZ headlamp

Post by ffoss » Thu Jul 14, 2016 7:54 pm

I know this issue has been on the wall before, but; I’m an owner of a DKW NZ 350, 1939 that I am about to renovate it. I am looking for parts for this headlamp: http://www.dkw-nz.net/cms/front_content ... 9&idart=99.

I have the headlamp housing, type HASAG nr. 165 NZ, but missing the chrome ring, the reflector, lamp holder, and the glass.
There are a lot of companies offering repro parts, but there are a bit confusing according to dimensions of the chrome ring.
Is there anyone know a specific part that’s fits, and from where to buy? I understand that original parts are not available.

Hi Frode,

Ask seller named pruzina1994 on German ebay, he should have everything you need.

I bought parts from pruzina1994, but it did not fit, even though he said it matched. The ring was to small.

I found a Marshall lamp that fit 99%. The ring was some millimeter to big, but it looks ok. I will use this until I find the original, or a good replica. See picture.

Hi,

This sounds quite strange.

Both I and friends of mine have bought the parts from him and mounted these on at least three or four original Hasag 165 lamp housings and there has never been any problems, always perfect fit. Last time i bought the parts from him was one year ago and then the parts (ring, reflector and glass) was mounted on a 1939 bike without any problems.

If your lamp housing is a original HASAG NZ165 and not modified in any ways, then there must be some manufacturing problem with the part he has send you and then he should in my opinion take his responsibility as seller and send you a correct part that fits as it should.

Kind regards: Frank

Do you have any ordering reference, name or something? May be he can remember something if he gets more information? Do you have some info about his e-mail address or web page address?
