A give away Thomas!
How do you expect the rest of us to get a decent...er..fair price for our bikes when
we want/have to sell one of these days....er.. say when death is approaching and
nobody in our respective families is deemed worthy enough to continue the dedication
as honorably and passionately as we have done without hesitation...
leading up to that daunting moment when we have to let go of our bikes?
That feeling of surrendering your life's greatest earthly pleasure and most loved
posession is ...indescribable....This looming sense of loss can be quite devastating
if that moment suddenly jumps out of the shadows and catches you off guard one day
while you are quietly sipping your cup of coffee ..minding your own business....
Of coarse the immensity of this daunting feeling will surely diminish either
proportionately or exponentially by the number of NZ's you happen to own.
Um..actually there's a simple formula/ " rule of thumb" you could use to try and more
clearly understand this feeling :
1/a = b
where :
a = the number of NZ's you own at the time of selling (one of them)
b = the RESULTing magnitude of the feeling we are attempting to quantify/describe.
In truth this "formula" is more of a rough guide and should repectfully be applied
with caution since there is no correlation or rather a yardstick or starting point if
you will, that gives us a meaningfull measure of "b" to begin with.
The individual who is brave enough to start experimenting with the formula should
possibly prepare himself as follows:
1. Take a deep breath.
2. Now
REMEMBER each of the following and contemplate on each one.
3. The joy when you first laid eyes on your first/ only NZ.
4. The day she first fired up and the sound of that sweet two stroke motor (how she
seemed to radiate luring you with her undeniable magnetism).
5. Your first ride! That floating feeling afterwards and the smile you carried for
weeks (or days) inbetween successive rides.
6. How this joy filtered through to the the rest of your family and others you
engage with in your daily life.
7. The sheer glee when you dicovered this website and the forum.
8. The warm welcome and embracing reception you received from fellow forum members
and their speedy and above all, helpful response to niggling (and at times, seemigly
pathetic) queries you had along the way.
9 The early days of greedily gathering information (downloading pdf's etc.)
10 The trials and tribulations of discovering unoriginal and incomplete aspects of
your bike yet knowing all the while that there was never any reason to despair as
spare parts were just around the corner. (?)
This list goes on...but it's time to take another breath. Inhale slowly and naturally
..and then exhale ... using the rythm of your heart beat to keep it steady.
Now you will start to get a measure of what the value of " negative b" for you and
you alone is. Negative because for everything there is an equal opposite. This is so
to maintain a balanced universe (...very loosely described by the laws of attraction
: I. Newton)... But Newton never owned a DKW so is forgiven for his shortfall.
There's no point in even attempting to rationalise an exponential formula for the
above.
This new formula in mathematical form would have to link the space/ time continuum and
correlate the many lives you have experienced in human form and be recursive in a
sense that it would unfold all that is already known yet forgotten. In another sense
it would reveal an awakening from a dream only to discover that it has been dreaming
itself. As each Dream fades the new Dream seems more real until it too awakens from
itself.
As you can see ... stumbling upon this formula right now would not help anybody. I
would not for one moment want to interfere with all the FUN ALL of you are having!
OH yes .. when can you deliver that bike? Does it have a hooter for that price?
