Re: Need help
Hi,
Hard to tell from those bad pictures, but at least the following are wrong parts, could be even more:
-Front lamp
-Speedometer
-Handlebar levers+armature
-Silver part on fuel tank should be chrome, or aluminium (not painted)
-Decals on fuel tank
-Air filter
-Horn
-Fuel tap
-Foot rest rubbers
-Rear lamp
-Electrical wiring
Most of those those wrong parts are "Hard-to-find-parts" (read expensive), so count with at least 2000-3000€ and a lot of time to get the things right.

Re: Need help
Hi Frank,
many thanks, your opinion is highly appreciated.
What do you mean for wrong parts? wrong model on this bike or repro , not original?
I am not so expert about the dkw nz but I am looking for my first one and I need to learn as much as possible.
regards
Paolo

Re: Need help
Hi Paolo,
Sorry for being unclear.
With wrong parts I mean they are from some other make/model of motorcycle and not belong to a NZ350.

Frank,
you was absolutely clear , it is I who do not know the subject!
can you suggest me a well done manual where I can find the correct information on the correct parts to be replaced?

Re: Need help
Hi Paolo,
Try to find the ETL 58 (Parts catalogue Nr58), its for the early NZ350 model and there you can see how the correct parts should look like:
https://www.google.fi/search?q=dkw+part ... 80&bih=901
Try also Google and try to search pre war pictures (later pictures often shows messed up bikes with wrong parts) of NZ350, there you can also see the correct parts.

Dear Frank, tell me, please, who produced the rear lights for the DKW NZ 350 and for the DKW NZ 250, where can I find photos of the original rear lights for DKW NZ 350 and NZ 250?
Regard`s, Vadim.

Re: Need help
Hi Vadim,
NZ250 and NZ350 (1938-43) hade different tail lamps. NZ250 used the common Hella rear lamp which was very common on many German bikes in the 40´s and 50´s. Those are easy to find both used and repro.

The NZ350 rear lamp is different and I have no info about the manufacturer. Maybe Hasag?? See attached pictures
The NZ350 rear lamp is difficult to find and as far as i know and no good repros are available. Sometimes some used shows up at ebay, but the prices goes sky high.
Greetings from Finland!

Re: Need help
Hei, Frank, kiitos paljon näistä selvennyksistä!)
I was also inclined to think, that these tail lamps were made for the NZ 350 by Hasag, but I did not find the brand or the photo of it anywhere. I have the remains of one original from the excavations, I will try to restore it, for pre-installation, then I will catch something more alive...
Onnea ja terveyttä!

Forum member Motorboy13 (Raimond) restored a quite bad dug out NZ350 rear lamp and he got it very nice. Maybe he has some pictures of it?
Best greetings!

Re: Need help
Terve, Frank,
I agree, the best way - to restore my native rear lamp, tell me, please, how was the red glass was attached there?
BTW, during the search for the manufacturer of the rear NZ 350 lamp, I found out, for sure, that the exact the same lamp was installed on the NZ 500, maybe you will need it.
Kaikkea hyvää!

Re: Need help
Hyvää Iltaa Vadim,
Yes, thats correct, the same lamp was used on NZ500. The moss green bike on the first pictures is my NZ500.
Please also notice that some dishonest sellers on the web sometimes tries to fool NZ owners by selling this agricultural tractor lamp as a NZ lamp
https://shop.delegro.nl/DEL-Ersatzteile ... anguage=de
This Hella tractor lamp is from the 50`s and much bigger than the NZ lamp.
The plastic lens on the NZ is attached to the lamp with an aluminium bezel and the edge is rolled in the exact same way as on almost all old motorcycle rear lamp.
I have not managed to found correct lenses and bezels for this lamp (its bigger than the lens used on Hella/IZH rear lamps), so I have made them myself and they are quite close to original ones.
Kind regards: Frank
